Bull Barrel Target MINI 14 .223
Finally got in to the Work Shop one of the Ruger Factory Bull Barrel MINI 14's. Did a trigger job and shot for groups. It likes all weight bullets and prefures the Match King 69 gr. Putting 3 shots into 3/16" from rest at 100 yds. The rifle in the photo all tuned up if ready to go for $995.00 to our FFL holder.

Yes, Sir, I sure did spend the day with the New 2007 retooled
and redesigned MINI 14 from Ruger. This newly remodeled MINI is much more like
the M1 Grand that I shot Expert with on Nov 10, 1956 (USMC Birthday). The new
"Ghost Ring" rear sight and the winged front sight gave me the
same sight picture as the M1. Up until this new MINI, I could not even use the
sights that came on a MINI. Wtih the New "Ghost Ring" I followed the
directions and when "sight in" for 100 yards. I could stand at the
100yd range and shoot
off-hand 3 shots groups under 1 1/2" with military 55gr ball ammo. (Cheap
Stuff). With these new sights I did off-hand hit a 8" round gong at 225yd
18 out 20 shots. (Oh, after market 20 round mags work better in this new redesigned
MINI). On top all this if was just pleasant to stand there and shoot all
day. The weather was bad and I had the Club's Rifle Range all to my self.
The new MINI 14 is 37.5" long and weight 6lb 10oz. The but plate on the new stock sure feels good on your shooting shoulder. Here is some the improvements on this 2007 MINI: Improved receiver with rounded contours. Simple, rugged Garand-style breechbolt locking system, with a fixed-piston gas system and self-cleaning, moving gas cylinder. Note: These improvements may be getting ready for the MINI in 6.8 Special Purpose Cartridge. 6/7/07 Update the New MINI's in .223 & 6.8SPC shoot better without the comp that Chief AJ designed for the old MINIs.
The 2007 MINI comes with scope rings so let us mount up.
Wow, my favorite new Running Coyote Scope went right on and cleared the rear sight nicely. There you can see the Catseye 1.5-4.5X all mounted on the new MINI. The rings that came with the rifle are just right to made my IMPROVED SCOUT CONCEPT RIFLE. On 1.5X I did the Scout Mount on a 100 yard target and did not stop until 20 rounds were down range. 19 were in a black 4" bull and one 6" off the X in the middle of the target. That is well with in a Coyote. On 4.5X offhand I could hit the 8" round gong with ease. It is great to be able to go back and forth with the variable power scope and zero did not change. With this NEW MINI you have the Scout Concept Scope System and backup "Ghost Ring" sights that work!!! The Scope and rings brought the Rifle weight up to 7lbs 8oz.
Oh, I did do a USMC National Match trigger job with trigger stop on the MINI before going to the range. With this trigger set up you can pull through for a running shot or get a sight picture, bring the trigger back until you feel the secondary sear. Then you fine tune your sight picture and have a 1# (one pound) let off. As soon as the hammer falls the over travel stop comes into play to eliminate all the unnecessary rearward movement. ( You can send in your trigger group only for this service $60.00)
All the sudden it got dark and the day on the range was over and I had to come back to 2/12/07.

1. Trigger Job
Trigger pull out of the box is very long and 5 1/2#. The Chief does USMC national match trigger job with over travel stop. This is a two stage trigger that can be pull through for a running shot or can be taken up to the secondary sear, sight picture fine tuned and that a one pound (1#) let off.
You cam send just your trigger group to the Chief for this treatment: $55.00pp back to you.
3. Now about Scopes for the MINI 14 & 30.
