"QUICK  POINT"

5/12/09 Now Sold Out of USMC trainers.

Back in the '60's the US Military bought and used a lot Daisy BB guns. I mean regular spring powered 350fps BB guns not pump up nor stored air guns.  The good old cock and shoot kind.

AIR RIFLES AT FORT POLK

The air rifle, formerly used for backyard target practice is now an integral part of military basic combat training and advanced infantry training.

The birth of the air rifle’s use with the military started at Fort Benning , Georgia, when a group of civilians suggested its use in training soldiers in a new weapon firing theory known as Quick Kill

Quick Kill, now a regular part of training at Fort Polk, puts to use the idea that effectively engaging an enemy target “is as easy as pointing your finger.”

11/17/08 Just got this e-mail from Don who was at Ft. Polk: “By the way I went to Ft. Polk in May of 1968 to Aug of 1968 for basic. One day on the rifle range a dill threw a 4 inch washer in the air ( the washer had a 2 inch hole in the center). A drill with a M 14 that had a stick tape over sights pulled up and shot. The drill with the rifle said he had shot threw the center of the washer. Me and my big mouth spoke up and said bull shit. The drill called be to the front of the company and had me put tape over the hole. They threw the washer up again and shot. Sure as hell the round hit dead center of the washer.

And my big mouth got me 50 pushups.

After that demonstration we were issued Daisy BB gun with out sights and we learn to point shot with them at solid 4 inch disk.

 Don”

Here's some photos of how this bb gun training was done.

Above is a trooper using a bb gun while running a course of fine in a woods full pop up targets and drop down sniper silhouettes.

Yes, the ladies also received "Quick Point" training with bb guns

Several Daisy and Crossman Model BB guns were used.

Some of the training was learning aerial shooting with the BB guns.

Chief AJ has received hundreds of e-mails from people who received this "Quick Skill or Quick Kill" training that credit this program with saving their life in combat.  Yes, the Chief has meet and talked with US Marines that had these instinct shooting drills done with Daisy BB guns.

These BB guns used in the "Quick Kill" training back in the 1960's now bring a premium price.

All of the above is how the Daisy "USCM QUICK POINT TRAINER" by USMC Expert Rifleman Chief AJ came about. The Chief AJ Daisy Special Edition Instinct Shooting BB gun built to Chief  AJ beefed up speciation that is being upgraded for the Limited "USMC QUICK POINT TRAINER" is a much larger and stronger that what the US Military could obtain back in the 60's.

RIFLE CAMP

Chief AJ did R&D for 3 years on bb guns to come with just the right length of pull for the stock with the right drop of comb for instinct "Quick Point" shooting with the Daisy Chief AJ air rifle. The Feet Per Second that the BB is shot was super important for you want to be able to "SEE THE BB FLY" - just under 350fps. The gun had to be able to hold to fast, hard and heavy cocking for AJ can shoot 12 shots in 10 seconds. The gun had to be able to last and last without losing power. The model that Daisy & Chief AJ came up does just that. To Chief AJ's speciations Daisy in the USA manufactured 1,695 Adult Sized BB guns that have the Chief AJ logo laser burned into the stock.  From the 1,695 Cheif AJ, USMC Expert Rifleman chose 100 to be the USMC "Quick Point" Trainers with the big hoop cocking lever and the Eagle, Globe & Anchor etched with Gold into the receiver.
