Mountain Man's Secret becomes better shooting BBs

Way back in the '60's Chief AJ was casting round lead 45 cal. balls by a campfire at Friendship, IN. There, in the light of a flickering wood fire, he heard how a "Mountain Man of Old" out shot all others by swaging his rifle balls. When a lead ball is taken out of the mold there is a spew and other mold marks. Our clever Mountain Man then placed about 100 raw balls between two pieces of hard wood and rolled the balls around and around between the boards. At first this is rough rolling and after about half an hour the soft lead balls become truly round like ball bearings of today.
These "swaged" or rolled rifle balls then flew much better and straight to the mark.
You only had to tell Chief AJ once about how to hit the target better. Before the Sun came up AJ had 100 Mountain Man rifle balls. During the "blanket shoots" that day at Friendship AJ got all 10X's with His Kentucky Long Rifle.
Skip ahead now about 45 years from Indiana to under the Ozark Hills of South West Missouri deep in the lime stone caverns where Daisy Outdoor Products are made. JB Welch, a high Daisy Official, was showing Chief AJ around in this huge cave. AJ was lost for a Indian needs to see the Sun to know where he is. Back in that Cave somewhere JB handed AJ a box of precision ground (rolled) BBs. JB told the Chief that these would shoot better for him. AJ smiled inwardly knowing that indeed these rolled bbs would fly true.
Store bbs or regular bbs shoot like the lead round balls just out of the mold. The bbs that are precision ground to a very tight tolerance shoot 10X. Chief AJ soon learned that with these special bbs he did not have to use Kentucky Windage with any of his guns. Not only that but the ground bbs "group" much better. High diddle, diddle these bbs fly down the middle.
