CRACKS IN THE MOUNTAINS
The Narrows is the place where the engineers wanted to build Hoover Dam back in the 1930's but they determined that the Lava rock was just not strong enough to hold back the river.
Note: all the faults and cracks in the rock sides of the Narrows of Lake Mead, 18 miles upstream from Hoover Dam.

Just as in Chapter 3 of TSUNAMI TWINS about the side trip that Two-Bears took to learn about ice caves. The lava rock above warm water Lake Mead held many natural ice caves that have now collapsed as this one in the above photo.
